Survive in Bangkok
I first thought of starting up this service when I myself was faced with Bangkok for the first time. I was seventeen then, and even though I spoke Thai and had been traveling in Singapore and Malaysia, nothing could prepare me for the experience. My Mother also had a strong part to play. She was terrified at the thought of her only son wanting to go to 'sin city', for an undetermined length of time, with no other excuse but the search for new experiences.
Well, two years on, the solution has finally come to me. If only I'd had someone helpful to meet me at the airport, get me to a guesthouse, teach me about the food stalls, bargaining and other customs of Thailand that overwhelm one so much at the start. It would have made it a great deal easier, heck, I would have signed up months in advance just to keep my parents quiet!
My service offers the following for the modest price of £15/day, and is in my mind the ideal introduction to Bangkok. Safe, and yet individual and personal:
Meet at the airport (tell us the arrival time and flight no. in advance)
Get to and find suitable accommodation (you specify the quality/price - we are not touts)
Learn some Thai (as much or little as you can handle)
Practice Bargaining (more difficult than it might seem if you have a white face)
Learn about Thai food stalls (what's safe and what's not)
You decide what to experience - sights, markets, backpacker life

I would recommend just one or two days, until you find your feet. Due to the personalized nature of the service it is suitable for anyone of any age, but only up to groups of four who are traveling together, so please notify us of the date early to avoid disappointment.
